In the middle of the crazy morning routine of trying to get myself and two boys out of the house on time, I pause and take a moment.
I step out onto the balcony in the freezing cold air to greet the day.
I look at the sky, the weather, feeling its chill, I take a deep breath and feel grateful for another day. I thank God for giving me more time, and then I take a quick photo and post it.
Its not always a great photo or even at the exact moment of sunrise, but I try on most days to do this, to remind myself of the beauty all around me which I often take for granted.
I find that time passes me by so quickly, and if I don’t stop to acknowledge what I have, then it is gone before I know it, another week having slipped by before sliding into the next.
To ‘Greet the Day’ means to say ‘Hello’ to the day, to recognise or acknowledge it for what it is – a gift.
Time is something we can never get more of once it’s gone.
“Time is free, but it is priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” – Harvey Mackay
Why don’t you take a moment tomorrow morning, in the middle of the busyness, to go to the window, or actually go outside, to pause and greet the day… and be grateful for another one.
Thanks for coming to visit, let’s catch up again soon!
